Simon Ramsay, SVP Retail Sales & Customer Experience, Richard Higgins, President and Les Spaltman, VP Retail Sales.

Velocity Truck Centre has appointed Isuzu’s former Head of Sales to a new role.

In a major coup for the company it today announced Les Spaltman as its new Vice President of Retail Sales.

Isuzu under Spaltman reached all-time record sales in consecutive years.

He resigned from the position late last year to return to the dealer world.

With his deep knowledge and understanding of truck operations and strong people leadership skills, Spaltman is a natural fit for the Velocity Truck Centre team the company said in a statement.

Velocity Truck Centre President, Richard Higgins said he was delighted to welcome Spaltman to the VTC team.

“Les is a man of high integrity and is dedicated to supporting both his customers and his team. His past performance is unquestionable and his approach and understanding of market trends will be a huge boost to our already high performing sales team,” said Higgins.

Spaltman will take on the day-to-day management and development of the Velocity Truck Centre sales team and will sit on the Executive team.

“Les will work in close collaboration with Simon Ramsay who has recently been appointed Senior Vice President Fleet Sales and Customer Experience and will draw on his vast experience to ensure we provide the best possible support to our Fleet customers,” said Higgins.

VTC’s Australian network sells and services commercial vehicles and exclusively represents Daimler Truck brands Mercedes-Benz Trucks, Freightliner and Fuso, as well as Mercedes Benz vans.

Velocity also operates 65 commercial vehicle dealership locations in the US across California, Arizona, Nevada, Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, and Hawaii and eight locations in Baja California, Mexico.

In other news Isuzu has appointed Ella Letiagina to head up Network Development.
