An FYJ 300-350 has taken top honours in the 2022 Isuzu Truck of the Year.

The truck is owned by Daniel Lockwood, who runs Craneworx, a crane and rigging hire business based in Adelaide.

It offers a range of services covering crane hire and rigging steel erection and constructions, including relocations and installations.

At the heavier end of the spectrum, the 2021 FYJ 300-350 model has a GVM of 30,000 kilograms and a GCM of 45,000 kilograms.

“It’s the Swiss Army knife of trucks,” said Lockwood, who has been awarded a $6,000 VISA cash card, in addition to a $1,000 cash card for winning the FY Series prize, as well.

In the N Series category, Lachlan and Savannah Gregory of Gregory Plumbing and Excavation received top honours for their NPR 65-190 Tipper.

Luke Hinrichs and New Wave Concreting took out the top prize in the F Series category with a tough and highly capable FRR 107-210 Tipper.

City Coast Services came out on top of the FX Series entrants for its FXZ 240-350.

Isuzu’s Truck of the Year competition awards a prize to one winner per model Series, selected from a pool of monthly winners throughout the calendar year.

While a winner is named for the N Series, F Series, FX Series, FY Series, a special category last year celebrating 50 years of Isuzu Australia, called the Heritage category, to celebrate Isuzu truck owners who have been with the brand from the beginning, was inaugurated.

That award went to Rowan Leen Demolitions for their 1985 Isuzu JCR Tipper.

The Truck of the Year competition pays tribute to hardworking Australian businesses who pilot and own Isuzu trucks and of course the truck drivers on the road day in day out rain, hail or shine.

Contestants came from all manner of industries.

The Isuzu judging panel deliberated the entries over the festive break to decide who would be crowned the King of their Series, along with the overall Truck of the Year 2022 Grand Prize winner.

Meanwhile, a People’s Choice category offered everyone the chance to vote on who they want to see win.

The 2022 Truck of the Year Peoples Choice Winner was awarded to YP Rimshine for their NLR 45-150 which received an overwhelming number of votes according to Isuzu.

They also took home a $1,000 VISA cash card.

Last year Adelaide Liquid Waste Solutions was named the Grand Prize Winner with an FXZ 240-350 outfitted with a matching tank and heavy-duty vacuum pump.

Craneworx’s FYJ 300-350 was recognised as the 2022 Isuzu Truck of the Year.
