Queensland-based freight carrier, Followmont Transport, has announced its Employee of the Year.

The honour for 2022 was awarded to its National Workshop Manager, Dean Alcock.

“The National Workshop Manager is a pivotal role in our business, ensuring our equipment is safe and in the best condition for our team,” the company said in an online statement.

Alcock commenced working with Followmont in its Brisbane workshop in 2018 before progressing to the national role in 2020.

“Dean is a people person and a great leader,” Followmont said in a statement.

“He displays care at every level, has great work ethic, gets his hands dirty and leads by example.”

During his time as National Workshop Manager Alcock has created a committed and fun environment for his team and all those who work alongside him.

“2022 has seen Dean step up further investing in his own personal growth and mentoring his team to tackle any challenge that comes their way,” the company said.

Passionate about transport, Alcock has also done much to help encourage and nurture the younger generation joining the road transport industry.

“Dean always puts the company first, and acts in the best interest of our people and our business,” said Mark Tobin, Followmont Transport Managing Director.

“Even when receiving the Employee of the Year award, Dean would not take credit for his performance,” he recalled.

“We’re proud of Dean and all he has accomplished with Followmont and are excited to continue this journey with him well into the future.”
